Using an in-house mail server such as Microsoft Exchange has many advantages, including sharing calendars and other resources between staff, keeping local mail private and off the Internet, and accessing the in-house system via the Web remotely.

Unfortunately in-house systems are also plagued with virus, spam, and connectivity problems.  The solution is to pass your mail through our servers where spam can be detected and viruses removed before it is allowed into your in-house server.  Mail will never be lost because of the unreliability of business-class DSL.  We have a Perl script, GetMail, which can be configured for either your Windows or Unix/Linux based servers that will pop the mail from our server and relay it to yours.

Mailbox Picture GetMail uses the POP3 protocol to retrieve messages from one or more mailboxes on our server.  It isolates the address that each message was intended for, and relays the message to that address at your mail server.  The script is written in Perl and relies on the Net::POP3 and Net::SMTP modules to function.  While the GetMail script may be downloaded and used without charge, full support is available for a registration fee of $29.95.  Or, if you like the program then please consider registering to help support future development of this and other products from Smallrock Internet.

Instructions are available to configure the GetMail script for both the Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
