What kind of information is kept about me?  Credit-card numbers?

No client information is passed to other parties.  Credit-card information may be stored to facilitate automatic billing, but is strongly safeguarded to prevent theft.

What is WebMail?  How do I access WebMail?

WebMail is a browser based interface to access email from any computer connected to the Internet.  This is an excellent method for retrieving mail while traveling, because it does not require you to have your own computer configured to "pop" your mail from the server.

WebMail may be accessed at: http://3k1ponce.com/webmail.htm.  The documentation is available at SquirrelMail.org.

Can I still use an in-house mail server?

Sure.  There are many good reasons for an in-house server, even in a small office.  Communications between local users never leave the office, servers like Microsoft Exchange support resource and calendar sharing and support traveling users with sophisticated Web interfaces.

The drawbacks to an in-house server are viruses, spam, and unreliable DSL connections leading to lost mail.  We have a script that you can use to build a hybrid solution where your mail is first received at our servers, and then picked up by your system.

How do I manage my Web site?

Your Web site is managed through a Web application, where you can see all the statistics about the site, change settings, create and manage ftp & email users, and even change the billing plan and service.  You can find out more about Web site management here, and you can enter the management application by following this link.

How do I configure e-mail clients?

It's easy, and we have a page devoted to explaining it.

Can I link to the Web mail clients on my site?

Yes, the same Web mail login screens and password change forms on this site can be duplicated on your own site.  The ASP code and instructions are available here.

Can I see a report about the traffic to my site?

Sure, along with being able to retrieve the raw web logs to process yourself, there are three options: Webalizer, Urchin, and AWStats.  Webalizer and AWStats are free, Urchin costs $9.95 a month.

For a good free tool for offline processing of your logs, we recommend that you take a look at the Report Magic tool which uses a report file generated from the log files by Analog.

Are there restrictions on the content of my site?

Yes, there are.  We do not allow sites containing pornographic material, distribution of illegal materials (including copyrighted materials), or material which incites or supports illegal activities.

Sites which are identified to be in violation of these polices will be removed, and the customer will not be entitled to a refund.

Is there a penalty for terminating service?

No, you may terminate service with us at any time.

Are there additional fees?

Often customers require services that extend the basic packages.  There are fees if you exceed the bandwidth and disk space limits for your account, and fees for purchasing additional bandwidth, disk space, and services.  See the hosting table for more information.

Can you explain more about DNS (Dynamic Name Service)?

Of course, we have a whole page devoted to the topic.
